Tam O'Shanter Drainage Improvements
Engineering Design and Construction Management services for Tam O’Shanter Blvd.
Project Description
Civil Works, (CWI) Inc. was selected as the Prime Consultant for the City of North Lauderdale to provide professional engineering services for Tam O’Shanter Drainage and Roadway Improvements. CWI will perform design and construction management services for improvements to the aforementioned project.
The design improvements are located along Tam O’ Shanter Boulevard between SW 81st Avenue and SW 71st Street, which is approximately 5,100 linear feet. The primary scope of work is to provide drainage improvements that minimize repetitive loss due to stormwater inundation as detailed in the Stormwater Master Plan prepared by Craven & Thompson, Inc. CWI is tasked with 1) providing flood mitigation alternatives that will provide a Level of Service (LOS), to be selected by the City, which will mitigate repetitive loss due to area wide flooding.
Alternatives will include raising the roadway elevation of Tam O’ Shanter 0-1ft in conjunction with stormwater management systems, 2) providing final construction documents for the alternative selected by the City, and 3) providing construction management and engineering inspection services. Additionally, CWI understands that funding for this project comes from a grant through the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Resilient Florida Program – a program developed to address vulnerability assessments for frequent flooding events and repetitive loss associated from flooding. We understand that this project must meet the terms and conditions of the grant.
